Small Business Blog post. The good, the bad and the ugly!
An honest blog post.
November and December ruined my Christmas and made me ill. I just had to get that off my chest! If you are familiar with the brand and follow me on social media, you'll know I tend to share the non-glamorous side to running a business. I could show clinical perfection or I could try to pretend to be a super brand powerhouse but I can't be fake. I'm a parent, a small business owner and a daughter to elderly parents. My working week is structured around my child, my family & shipping logistics. When customers ask questions online they are chatting to me, not a bot. It's non stop.
I moved premises on December 1st (of all weekls it had to be black friday week). On top of that, one of my suppliers experienced a cloudflare outage and my stock was delayed for two weeks which in turn created quite the printing backlog. Here are some progress photos of my showroom, painted and put together by my husband, daughter & I.
The before. Lets just say I was not impressed by the carpet. It was more despair.....
We got rid of the navy and blue walls and then moved everything in. Luckily I was just moving upstairs to the 2nd floor! I'll be honest, the space isnt finished. Still needs more paint, a mirror and a whole lot of merchandising but here are some progress photos to show you I'm only human.

Teamwork! Ugly floor not such an eyesore now. So, back to December and the move, cloudflare & some other stressy bits made me sick. Sick for a month. I had to touch grass or something.....
I wanted to do Winter Solstice at Newgrange. The brisk walk in the damp cold actually floored me, ended up REALLY sick. So my take away from this is. Finish up earlier this year, arrive earlier to Newgrange. Accept imperfection and maybe put up a christmas tree in the showroom. I should have the time!
